The Gilead House History
The first steering committee meeting was June 5, 1997. The constitution and bylaws were written. In November 1998 the Gilead House, Inc. received our 501C non-profit status. From 1998 through 2000 the steering committee continued to meet and move in the direction of the vision. On September 1, 2000 we opened our office doors.
Since September 1, 2000 we have obtained contracts with both local hospitals to provide case management. The Gilead House currently will see approximately 30 women per week through our office. We see approximately 20 women per week through our jail program and 20 teenagers per week through our youth detention program.
